This week: Rhys Jones from Good Shoes
----------------------------------------------------
hello, describe the shoes you are wearing.
i'm not wearing any.
(sorry) well, at least we've got that out of the way now. but just out of interest - which is better: pink stilettoes or black converse?
i dont care
which city is best for producing new bands?
not morden
you played at the insomniac's ball in london a few weeks ago. my favourite bit was the purpose built snack shop, even though a regular snickers cost £1.50. how was it for you?
horrible, it was the worst organised gig we've ever played: they didnt give us the right passes so we couldnt do any of our press, the barrier they put up was a joke, people were getting squashed and then the only way security could think of sorting it out was by man handling and hitting them. the biggest joke of a festival we've ever playe. im surprised nobody got seriously hurt. it wasn't really as if they cared about the people paying to go to it either, with a snickers, as you say, at £1.50 and beers were 4 pounds! saying that, the crowd were alright and people seemed to really enjoy it which made it worth while.
i like the way you sing. it's as if you've sat down on something quite sharp and yelped out as a consequence. which vocalists do you admire, and why?
this is a good question, except for your subtle description of anal sex. i really like kate from the long blondes, she has an amazing voice. at the end of madam ray is great. the rumble strips have an amazing sound and charlie is a great singer, i think the mystery jets harmonies and melodies are really good too, i dont listen to much old music im much more inspired by new bands.
do you like going out and socialising? i suppose, as a popstar, you can't really escape being a schmoozing arse, no?
we're not popstars, you must have confused us with someone else, no top ten hits for us yet!
and finally, what colour is a monday?
this was a bad way to end the interview.
